Najčešće se izrađuju od kompozita ili keramike.
Kompozitne fasete mogu da se izrade u ordinaciji ili da se lepe već fabrički napravljene kompozitne fasete (Edelweiss fasete), koje su znatno kvalitetnije i dugotrajnije od klasičnih kompozitnih faseta.
Kompozitne fasete se mogu završiti u jednoj poseti stomatologu, dok je za izradu keramičkih faseta potrebno više poseta.

Za razliku od kompozitnih, pre izrade keramičkih faseta neophodno je pripremiti ležište na zubu. Preparacija je plitka i zalazi samo u gleđ, tako da je integritet zuba apsolutno očuvan.
