Novi Sad je drugi najveći grad u Srbiji, administrativno sedište Pokrajine Vojvodine i Južnobačkog okruga. Nalazi se u južnom delu Panonske nizije, na granici Bačke i Srema, na obali reke Dunav, i gleda u severne obronke planine Fruška gora. Po popisu iz 2011. godine, grad ima populaciju od 231.798, a urbani deo grada Novog Sada 277.522 stanovnika. Populacija opštine je 341.625 stanovnika. Novi Sad je industrijski i drugi najveći finansijski centar srpske ekonomije, kao i veliki centar kulture s nadimkom Srpska Atina.

Ulazak i ostanak stranaca

Počevši od 12. juna 2010, građani Evropske unije, Švajcarske Konfederacije, Kraljevine Norveške, Republike Island, Bosne i Hercegovine, Crne Gore i Republike Makedonije mogu ući u Srbiju koristeći ličnu kartu i ostati do 90 dana.

Zdravstvena zaštita

Strani državljani, kao i srpski državljani koji žive i rade u inostranstvu, za vreme boravka u Srbiji imaju pravo na hitnu medicinsku pomoć. Državljani zemalja s kojima je sklopljen međunarodni sporazum o zdravstvenom osiguranju pravo na hitnu medicinsku pomoć u Srbiji ostvaruju na osnovu potvrde svog zdravstvenog osiguranja. Zvanična valuta u Srbiji je „srpski dinar“, koji se obeležava sa RSD ili din. Inostrane valute se mogu razmeniti u svim bankama i poštama, kao i ovlašćenim menjačnicama. Carinski propisi

Strani državljani i domaći državljani koji žive i rade u inostranstvu mogu uneti neograničenu sumu deviza, a mogu izneti sumu do 10.000 EUR. Iznos deviza koji unose prijavljuju cariniku radi dobijanja potvrde na osnovu koje ih mogu vratiti prilikom prvog izlaska iz zemlje. Mogu izneti devize koje su podigli sa svog deviznog računa u Srbiji, uz potvrdu banke. Dinare mogu unositi i iznositi do iznosa u protivvrednosti 10.000 EUR, a veća suma može se uneti samo ako su kupljeni kod strane banke uz potvrdu te banke.
